On Wednesday 22nd March, we were delighted to welcome a group of 33 students and their teachers from Carolus Clusius College, Zwolle in the Netherlands. They followed a variety of Year 9 lessons throughout the day, including, Maths, Science, English, Technology, Welsh, Drama, History, Geography and Music. It was an exciting opportunity for our students to meet their counterparts from the Netherlands and discuss the similarities and differences in the education systems.
On Thursday 23rd March, Mr Wilkinson and Mrs Large accompanied a group of 45 St Joseph’s pupils to Liverpool University, where we met up with the Netherlands group. We were given a very interesting talk about University life and also got the opportunity to take part in a lecture about Shakespeare. We were then accompanied by Student Ambassadors from Liverpool University who gave a tour of the campus. We finished the day with a visit to Liverpool itself, including of course a brief stop at Liverpool One!
The past two days have been such an enriching experience for all involved, has strengthened our partnership with Carolus Clusius College in Zwolle and we hope to welcome them again next year.
